|
Feb 2013
Lets send Em on a holiday she deserves! Anyone who knows of Em and her story and what she's been through this last few years, know that this gal deserves a holiday! The Emma De Silva Foundation needs your help in fund-raising to get Em to Vanautu in June. Please dig deep to help in anyway big or small to make Em's dream come true and donate today! Emma survives on a pension and family support to make ends meet so any help would be very much appreciated. 100% of money raised goes directly to Emma, bank details below. Thank you again, Lyndall Allan November 2012 Em's is doing better. She is starting to improve again which is just amazing but still has her bad days where she doesn't feel like doing much. Em's is getting stronger on her feet but still needs assistance to walk with a frame and continues to work very very hard at all her therapy sessions. Her speech is slurred but is getting better and better and she is very much switched on to everything happening around her. Em still has her wonderful sense of humour and is often cracking jokes and making us all laugh. She loves more than anything to spend time with her daughter and catch up with friends and family. Thank you for all your continued support. One Year On... March 2012 Well it feels like a lifetime but a year ago yesterday Em was hit by the car in St Peters. One year on and we are all very great ful to have our beautful Em with us and seeing her do so well is just amazing. She is walking faster and stronger with her frame now but still needs assistance and is standing assited now too. Her speech is still slured and sometimes hard to understand but she is working hard on that. Em's has formed a real mother daughter bond with Eloise and loves spending time with her and always wants to know where she is. Great news, Em is leaving Ryde Rehab hospital in two weeks to live with her loving father and step mum. So awesome to see her improving!! Update On Em Feb 2012 Em's is doing really well. She is up on her feet and can walk with a large frame or holding onto your shoulders. She is talking more, creating conversation now and its slowly becoming clearer. Em's is getting more energy back and is staying up later at night and without naps most days. Swimming has become a weekly event with her Dad which she loves and she is looking forward to her birthday this month and Eloise very special first brithday. Em's is improving all the time but is still in Hospital with the hopes to be home very very soon. Thank you all for the continuous support. Lyndall On the 14th of March 2011, Emma De Silva, her nineteen day old daughter Eloise and dog Pierre set out for their daily afternoon walk. Three hundred metres from home, a car mounted the curb, knocking Emma into the air, before colliding with Eloise in her pram. Eloise suffered minor brain bleeds and a broken shoulder. To this day, Emma has failed to regain consciousness and remains in a deep coma. http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/sydney-nsw/beating-heart-of-love-between-comatose-emma-de-silva-and-her-baby-girl-eloise/story-e6freuzi-1226051413642 http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/sydney-nsw/mum-emma-de-silva-wakes-up-from-a-nightmare-to-hug-her-lovely-daughter/story-e6freuzi-1226064391674 How You Can Help There are 2 easy ways that you can help Emma's husband Peter with the mounting costs of running a home and looking after baby Eloise.
